Schumann joined The Commons just as he was starting a new role to drive more impact from day 1. He had just pivoted into his first Finance role in tech, joining a Series C software company as a Senior Financial Analyst. Prior to his pivot into tech, Schumann had worked in financial analyst roles across banks, transportation and entertainment.
By the time Michael joined The Commons, he was already working at a tech company - a market leader in the digital sports and entertainment industry. Prior to making his move into tech, Michael spent a number of years working in data analytics and FP&A at Liberty Mutual Insurance. He joined the Strategic Finance Sprint to hone in on his technical, analytical and presentation skills and drive more impact on-the-job.
Nicole was working as a Senior Business Analyst at a bank when she joined The Commons, looking to build her core competencies and drive towards a promotion. Through the Strategic Finance Sprint, she was able to learn new skills that were applicable to her to “real life” by “focusing less on the actual numbers and more on your thought process and justification.” Shortly after her Sprint wrapped, she landed a promotion to Manager.
Mitch joined The Commons to build on his economics and finance background by learning tech-focused KPIs, financial analysis and planning skills. He has spent a number of years at GM Financial on the Debt & Derivatives, Corporate Performance, and Investor Relations teams. After completing the Strategic Finance Sprint, Mitch landed a role as a Senior Financial Analyst (Revenue) at Ibotta, a Series D e-commerce platform providing cash-back rewards.

I highly appreciated interacting with team members & mentors who were currently in the roles that I target for my career. It provided a lens on how the function work in various organizations.
The Strategic Finance Sprint was a great way to get a refresher on how to fo about modeling a business problem or opportunity, and actually scope out the different inputs / levers that we, as a business, could pull to realize those opportunities. In addition, I really enjoyed meeting others though The Commons as everyone was very different backgrounds.
The Commons community has helped me so much as I ventured into the world of tech. Such a game changer 🙌
The Commons is where world-class operators intentionally learn and grow together. Starting out complete non-technical, I was able to incubate and supercharge my budding skillsets in data, product, and growth. In fact, I loved the learning experience so much that I did 4 different programs.
The job board has given me more movement than an entire year of LinkedIn premium.
The Commons has the richest virtual learning environment that I have ever seen and I feel privileged to be able to contribute to it.
Joining The Commons was the best thing I've done for myself in 2022 😌
This community is like no other I've seen. Everyone is engaged, they root for each other to succeed, and when you need help there are always multiple people lending a hand in support. The confidence that The Commons has given me and the skills that I've learned will stay with me throughout my career. I'll always be grateful to the people here.
